Next we moved into Architecture. Students worked in groups to become experts about a type of architecture in the 17th-19th centuries. They read about the style or styles associated with the period, match pictures and descriptions, did internet research, and took notes. Then each group presented to the class and we all took notes together. I showed them a cool graphic of the history of homes in America and a website with LOTS of different architecture styles they can explore. There's so much to learn. For homework students will work through a Google Slides presentation of Pitt County Architecture, analyzing homes for their style, roof, and architectural elements and recording these on a handout for discussion next time.
We ended our day with a little bit of Bridges. Companies worked for about 20 minutes. We'll continue this work session next time.
