Our day began with students painting their Greek vases black to prepare for etching their designs. In the Math Mystery Tour, they continued working with the Golden Rectangle, constructing the spiral hiding inside then working through a Google Slide show to view examples in nature and other connections.
Much of our day was spent working with heat transfer and the International Space Station. Students worked in teams to investigate how astronauts stay cool in their spacesuits. They used temperature probes to collect data as they took turns wearing a "cooling loop" on their arms. It was a great exercise in following procedures and working as a team. Ask your child about it! See below for some pictures of the action.
Our next STRIDE day will be on Monday, April 24th due to the Math Masters Competition on Wednesday, April 26th. There's no homework this week, so many students chose to leave their binders.
I hope you have a wonderful spring break!
