In Greek Forum we continued with Ancient Greek vases. We viewed a video clip to learn how the vases were made and learned the difference between black face and red face pottery. Ask your child to tell you about how this was done. It is very interesting! Next we revisited photos of actual vases, some located in the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. This warmed up students brains for etching their own sketches into their vases.
Wednesday STRIDE stopped here and had their Marble Jar celebration. Lots of gaming and fun were included!
Thursday STRIDE continued in Greek Forum by etching their vases and completing their final copies of their Museum Exhibit cards. They also began a probability investigation with a game called Roller Derby.
The only homework this week is to complete pages 3-4 of the "Intent to Invent" worksheet, present to a parent, and get it signed.
Next week Thursday STRIDE will move to Friday due to the PBIS trip on Thursday.
I look forward to our next day of learning!
